Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job
The Programme Office lies at the heart of the Next Generation Infrastructure (NGI) programme. The role of Document Controller is an essential role within the Programme Office to ensure that all documentation created by the programme and project team are stored, managed, and archived.
As Document Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information and documentation throughout the project lifecycle, adhering to ISO 19650 standards.
As Document Controller you will have oversight, management and quality assurance of documents uploaded on to out document management portal ‘Asite’.The post holder will be producing monthly management reports as required to support the programme delivery.
Key Relationships
The role will require engagement with NGI programme team and external project team developing the design for the new building.
Main Activities & Responsibilities

- Provide ad-hoc reports and information on system usage, status of RFI’s, change requests, notices, etc. and assist with ad-hoc requests relating to user activity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NGI Document Controller to join the Directorate Department, to support the cutting-edge science of the John Innes Centre.
About the Next Generation Infrastructure:
NGI is a programme of c£389m capital investment and business change to improve and evolve the research capabilities of the John Innes Centre (JIC) and The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) on their current site at the Norwich Research Park. The proposed investment would transform the existing capabilities of both centres via new and shared interdisciplinary research facilities with a goal for the facility to be near net-zero.
The role:
The NGI Document Controller is an essential role within the Programme Office to ensure that all documentation created by the programme and project team are stored, managed, and archived. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information and documentation throughout the project lifecycle, adhering to ISO 19650 standards and have oversight, management and quality assurance of documents uploaded on to the document management portal, ASITE.
The ideal candidate:
The post holder will have good current experience working in a similar field. They will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, and accurate keyboard skills and it is advantageous to understand construction process.
Experience of working in document control, preferably in construction or engineering projects is essential and previous experience of ASITE system is preferred although experience of alternate document control would be acceptable.
