|Main purpose of the job
||To assist the Conference Centre Manager with providing a venue for internal Science events and in hiring out the venue to external fee paying clients in order to cover all costs and make a small surplus. Duties will include acting as host for a range of events up to 300+ delegates, coordinate with the Porterage, Cleaning and AV Tech teams, attend to administration such as catering orders, invoice requests event scheduling and also ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to in particular emergency evacuation procedures. |

||An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager to work alongside the Conference Centre Manager at the John Innes Centre. |
The successful candidate will assist the Conference Centre Manager to provide a venue for internal Science events and in hiring out the venue to external fee paying clients. The post holder will be involved in all conference matters from the original inquiry, through to the event set up and pack down and then post event invoicing and feedback. Duties will include acting as host for a range of events up to 300+ delegates, coordinating with Porterage, Cleaning and AV Tech teams and conference centre administration such as timings, security, car parking, porterage, catering, piano maintenance scheduling and Audio Visual (AV) trouble shooting. The post holder must also ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to particularly emergency evacuation procedures.
The successful applicant must have a flexible approach to working hours, must be able to assist with conference porterage and have a willingness to be trained in first aid, health & safety, AV, Licensing act 2003, fire marshalling and manual handling.
Salary on appointment will be within the range £23,900 to £26,600 pro rata per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This post is for 20 hours per week on an indefinite contract.
